I own both, and they are very different, but I think that's a good thing. I wouldn't part with either of them. The Omega is a little more rugged, a little heavier, and more brash/noticeable. Two major Swiss watch brands go head to head in our full in-depth comparison and review of Longines VS Omega watches. Today we'll explore the many differences between Longines and Omega watches to help you determine for yourself which is a better watch for you. The completely revamped Legend Diver has a more versatile case size at 39mm, far better lume, a COSC-certified movement, a more modern design and a true stainless steel bracelet option for the first time — fitted end links and safety clasp included. The dial even eschews the date, something fans of the watch have been clamoring for.
The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M, ref. 2252.50, in 36mm, is very similar to the Omega Seamaster we mentioned earlier. The case, helium escape valve, and scalloped bezel are virtually identical between these two models.
Although both are divers, the LLD offers far more versatility IMO plus a slightly less expensive price tag. I would take the current LLD if you’re looking for something that will take on all occasions and/or a daily driver. If looking for a dedicated diver and Longines is your brand the Skin Diver is a great piece. The Legend Diver 39mm is a shade under 13mm thick, e.g., about the same as a Tudor Black Bay 58, but it wears thinner because of slightly downturned lugs and the thinner midcase. The closed caseback has Longines' familiar retro diver motif. A good example of a well-executed re-edition is — in my opinion — the OMEGA Seamaster Ploprof 1200M. Another example is the watch that I review here, the Longines Legend Diver. Approximately 50 years ago, Longines had a very similar diver watch, with an automatic caliber 290 Longines movement inside.
With a distinct look that features two crowns at 2 and 4 o’clock, an inner rotating bezel, and a stainless steel mesh bracelet, Longines’ Legend stands out in the sea of luxury dive watches on the crowded market thanks to its unique — and devastatingly handsome — looks. The Longines Legend Diver is an updated, modernized re-issued version of a super compressor dive watch from the ‘60s. It is a beautiful combination of a serious sports watch and an elegant design, therefore it can be easily dressed up or down.

This Legend Diver is a clever move and quite unexpected: well upmarket, but no fauxtina lume, no whimsical colour, no 6 o’clock date, not ludicrously large.Take note, Omega. I bet no-one expected an ISO compliant (300m!) diver with modern lume and 12.5mm thickness to spring forth from this range. I own both, and they are very different, but I think that's a good thing. I wouldn't part with either of them. The Omega is a little more rugged, a little heavier, and more brash/noticeable.
