I'm guessing the AD's received those Seamasters under the previous wholesale price so those still have room for the discount. When Omega raises MSRP, they probably also raise the wholesale price to AD's (just a hunch but idk for sure). Omega desperately wants to increase the percieved value of their watches. I do not think that they would get to comparable pricing of Rolex, but they want to get to the point that are perceived that way and the biggest knock on Omega is value retention.

The information about when Rolex completely exchanged 904L for 316L steel varies. But Rolex themselves states that “Rolex’s steel watches are manufactured from Rolex’s own 904L alloy, known as “Oystersteel” from 2018.”. So according to Rolex, they shifted all of its steel watches to 904L in 2018. But this is not the whole truth.
