If you look at the dial on the subs closely, particularly the centre portion, it will be easily noticeable that where the dial has been stamped (allowing for hands to fit to movement) a circle radiates from the centre of such hole where the dial has been deformed slightly downwards.It looks like the hour hand is braising up against the dial and causing scratching.
